Laughter is good for the soul!

“Your sense of humor is one of the most powerful tools you have to make certain that your daily mood and emotional state support good health.” ~ Paul E. McGhee, Ph.D.

  1. Laughter relaxes the whole body. A good, hearty laugh relieves physical tension and stress, leaving your muscles relaxed for up to 45 minutes after.
  2. Laughter boosts the immune system. Laughter decreases stress hormones and increases immune cells and infection-fighting antibodies, thus improving your resistance to disease.
  3. Laughter triggers the release of endorphins, the body’s natural feel-good chemicals. Endorphins promote an overall sense of well-being and can even temporarily relieve pain.
  4. Laughter protects the heart. Laughter improves the function of blood vessels and increases blood flow, which can help protect you against a heart attack and other cardiovascular problems.

We got OUR "laugh on" at the Pechanga Comedy Club in Temecula, CA, as we saw Comedian Legend ("King of Clean Comedy)...AJ Jamal and up and coming Actor/Comedian, Brandon T Jackson (seen in Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief, Big Momma 3 and Fast & Furious.)

Finishing Chelsea's Run was inspiring!

I'm so glad my family went to and Finished... The Inaugural 'Finish Chelsea's Run' this past Saturday March 5th (2011). It was great to witness the outpouring of love for this young girl who was taken from her family and friends far too early. Chelsea was a Poway High School senior, who disappeared while jogging on the trails in Rancho Bernardo. There were close to 5000 runners/walkers and supporters out in Balboa Park (San Diego) and it was so heart warming to see them all there for the same cause! It was obvious that Chelsea touched many lives and inspired many people. It is sad that she had to lose her life to make an impact.

I usually go to these run events on my own, but this time I brought the whole family to witness what I thought would be a special event in the community. As an adult I knew why I was there and what it represented, but it was wonderful seeing my five year old drawing hearts (as well as Spiderman) on the "Inspiration Wall" created for Chelsea's memory. It was an honor to be there as a family as my wife and I celebrated our anniversary at this "family" event.
(My wife, Makena even got interviewed at the event~> She's the one with the big afro...Lol!)

Well...we look forward to celebrating Chelsea's life next year and we hope to bring many more people along with us to witness this great event honoring a person taken away Way too soon! R.I.P. Chelsea!
