Finishing Chelsea's Run was inspiring!

I'm so glad my family went to and Finished... The Inaugural 'Finish Chelsea's Run' this past Saturday March 5th (2011). It was great to witness the outpouring of love for this young girl who was taken from her family and friends far too early. Chelsea was a Poway High School senior, who disappeared while jogging on the trails in Rancho Bernardo. There were close to 5000 runners/walkers and supporters out in Balboa Park (San Diego) and it was so heart warming to see them all there for the same cause! It was obvious that Chelsea touched many lives and inspired many people. It is sad that she had to lose her life to make an impact.

I usually go to these run events on my own, but this time I brought the whole family to witness what I thought would be a special event in the community. As an adult I knew why I was there and what it represented, but it was wonderful seeing my five year old drawing hearts (as well as Spiderman) on the "Inspiration Wall" created for Chelsea's memory. It was an honor to be there as a family as my wife and I celebrated our anniversary at this "family" event.
(My wife, Makena even got interviewed at the event~> She's the one with the big afro...Lol!)
