1Cor.6:19-20~"...your body is a temple..."
Not to get preachy, but...

Come take a Hike...up Cowles Mt.
"Hey, you wanna hike Cowles Mt. this weekend?", "Heck NO! I ain't climbing no mountain. That's for those crazy folks!" That is usually the response I get from people when I ask the to join me on Cowles Mt. "What is Cowles Mt. and why should I climb it?" is another question I get from folks who never tried it. Well... Cowles Mt. is a Mountain in San Diego, located on the corner of Golfcrest Drive and Navajo Road, within Mission Mission Trails Park. It is 1.5 miles up and 1.5 miles down (giving you a roundtrip journey of 3 miles). Why do we do it? We do it for the challenge, for fitness, to clear our minds, to inspire us to achieve goals, for dares, to impress girls or guys, for fun...the list of reasons go on and on.
Many groups, clubs, teams, individuals, etc... make the trek every day (some twice in one day!) and continue to do it for their individual reasons. My group, Sirius Fitness Run and Fit Club make it a habit to hike at least once a week. I personally am doing it to prepare for a Half Marathon which requires me to run much of those grueling 13.1 miles uphill! I encourage individuals to do it for their overall health. That is my driving force! When commenting on their journey up and down Cowles Mt. some members used descriptions such as... hard, fun, inspiring, invigorating, challenging, refreshing, great and some I can't mention...LOL! Yolanda K. said, "Wow! my calves hurt for almost a week after the first workout.. whoa!!" We get a GOOD WORKOUT too!
My challenge to you is to come and challenge YOURSELF and reach that peak, climb that mountain, conquer that hill and keep your eye on the prize. The prize is Health, Wellness and an Optimum Life! We take on Cowles every Saturday Morning at 7am. For more information go to www.meetup.com/siriusfitness (join our FREE Fit club) or email me at siriusfitness@gmail.com. PEACE and HEALTH!

I found my frozen yogurt replacement! (I think!)
Oh My Goodness! During this Vegan diet I have discovered new non-dairy, non-egg, non-animal protein alternatives which are healthy and tasty as well! Today I was walking through Vons just looking for alternatives to my frozen yogurt craving and I found Almond Dream Bites! YUMMY! I have had a hard time in the past finding an alternative to Ice Cream and Frozen yogurt, but I think I finally found it! Try it...You'll love it! The next on the agenda is the Soy Dream Frozen Dessert! I hope I can replace my yogurt with it, because I really want to continue with my dairy free lifestyle!

Well folks...I've been eating clean (no dairy, sugar, salt, fish, etc...) for the last 14 days. I have one more week to go! (Pray for me) Only salads, fruits, water, veggie meat, quinoa<~(that grain has all the essential amino acids for muscle building!) nuts, grains, etc... have been in my system and I have to tell you...I FEEL GREAT! I still have energy, I still am able to run around town and through the gyms like a madman, teaching my classes, taking classes and doing my "fitness" thing! I have only been a Lacto-Ovo-Pesco Vegetarian and it feels great being a Vegan, even if it is just for the month. But, I have been really feeling that I can incorporate this vegan diet for part of the week, while going back to my fish (mostly salmon) the rest of the week. I have lost bodyfat, a little weight and I have loads of energy!
Give it a try! Go to Whole Foods, Henry's, Fresh and Easy, Trader Joe's and get some Brown Rice, Veggie meat, almond Milk, Quinoa, almond butter, etc... and give it a try! If you really want to see a change in your body and mind cut "white" products! Go a week without (added) sugar, salt, white rice, white potatoes, white pasta eggs. Eat raw honey, Sea salt, Brown rice, Red Potatoes, Wheat Pasta, more salad and fruits! Trust me, you will notice a differences from your energy to your bowel movements! (Lol) Really! Try it and get back with me about your experiences!
Peace and Health,
Nasara Gargonnu
